Our specialty value added services are unique from other logistics providers because we are the supplier of key integrated services into the semiconductor back-end supply chain, saving you valuable cycle time and money… the combination of leading logistics services and specialized back end services truly sets JSI apart from all other logistics providers. We are fortunate to employ many professionals with direct semiconductor industry experience who are competent in the rigorous quality standards of the industry which allows our customers to have confidence in knowing that our teams know exactly how to handle your units throughout the back end service process.

Package Transfers

Our team is ready to handle your requirements - no matter how diverse. JSI provides automated tape & reel services as well as de-taping with minimum handling. We maximize our line with 2-D and 3-D in-line vision inspection for tube-to-tape and tray-to-tape. Our confidence comes from state-of-the-art quality systems and a current daily capacity of 100,000 chips - we can guarantee you will have the service and experience you need.

Dry Baking/Resealing

JSI has multiple dry bake machines and vacuum sealers to properly bake, re-bake and seal or re-seal components and turn them around for shipment in two days. Our Bake and Dry Pack services for tray and tube products ensure that moisture sensitive components are protected and quality is assured throughout the packaging process. We also will bake all components to the Original Chip Manufacturers moisture level specifications. Our large batch ovens use a computer interface to allow for custom baking "profiles" along with data collection and reporting when required.

Marking

Whether you require a complete print or erase, a reprint, or an additional print line or character, JSI is the answer. JSI has the ability to handle a daily capacity of over 400,000 units. Our equipment allows us to demark components in trays and tubes for plastic, ceramic and gold-lidded packages. JSI uses a "Blacktop" process with top quality inks to achieve excellent permanency and uniform ink coating. We offer ink and laser marking for both high and low volume lot quantities.

Testing

In our Hong Kong facility JSI operates over 200 automated test machines in a class 100K clean environment. In addition to this customer consigned equipment we also have the ability to operate and maintain almost any other type of customer consigned test equipment including ATE, RD2 and other test platforms. JSI will receive your chip into our inventory after manufacturing and store it until it is read to ship to you customer. When the chip is ready for shipment, JSI will test its' full circuitry to ensure good product is being shipped to your customer, thereby deferring capital outlay for test services until just prior to shipment. In addition to basic test services, JSI is able to run System Level Test (SLT) to check functionality and performance per specification.

Programming

ROM burning, another service provided by JSI enables customers to better manage inventory levels and simplify forecasting. By storing a generic form of ROM, you eliminate having to keep many different pre-programmed ROMs on hand before a specific order is received from the end customer. We conduct ROM burning on the same premises as where the inventory is stored, lowering the cycle time and transportation costs you might normally have with moving the product from warehouse to ROM burning and back to warehouse.

Wafer Storage

Asking a subcontractor to pull wafers from their stock and ship them to another subcontractor is usually a lengthy process, and also shows the subcontractor where else you are moving your "builds" to - something you may want to keep confidential. Rather than holding wafers and shipping them from one location to another when capacity or technology changes, JSI holds wafers in a neutral location and is ready to ship to your subcontract manufacturer immediately on demand without delay. JSI has the ability to store wafers in vacuum packed wafer jars / boats and is actively planning to build a true "die bank" with nitrogen cabinets and laminar flow hoods for more robust wafer storage including wafer splitting.

Returns Management/Inspection

JSI currently manages a large portfolio of semiconductor RMA programs. From managing the customer service function of receiving the initial RMA call, processing the request for the RMA, arranging the shipping of the RMA back to our warehouse or to our customers location and inspection of the RMA we take care of it all… even down to inspections at the chip level and filing formal reports. In many cases we can re-bake, re-pack, re-label and place directly back to your stock so the goods are available for new orders immediately. All this saves you a significant amount of freight expenses, especially by keeping the RMA in its country of origin rather than sending to a headquarters location in another part of the world for failure analysis. In addition to saving in freight cost your will enjoy a lower staff headcount to manage the RMA process.
